I ordered this item in AUGUST – it is still NOT available. They have ZERO in stock, yet advertise like Amazon can send you one today. They CAN’T send one until CHRISTMAS.
My advice – look elsewhere and good luck.

I don’t know why anyone in their right mind would buy this particular Transformers toy for a child. It’s definitely not a toy they’d be interested in, even if they think they might be. They’d be better off with one of the smaller ship models they’ve put out.
I bought this one for my 22 year old husband for Christmas last year. He collects all things Star Wars. It took him about 45 minutes to transform it the first time, and since then it only takes him 10 minutes or so. It mostly sits on a shelf at our house, and really, we got what we paid for. I really don’t think children would care much for this toy.

Difficult to put together, pieces don’t fit well, parts pop open…what a waste of $$ and waaaayyyy too much for even an older child or adult to do on their own without major frustration. Sadly disappointed!

Seven-year-old loves this toy, but is unable to turn it into the Death Star. It makes annoying Darth Vader noises without the slightest provocation, and may be impossible to turn off. If there’s an off swicth, I haven’t found it, but I wasn’t able to make the death start ransformation, either, so it could be user error. Nevertheless, this was among the favorites for Christmas because it’s big, it’s Darth vader, and it’s noisy.

I am 6 years old, my mom is typing this and my dad is trying to turn it into the Death Star mode and he’s having a very hard time doing it. It snaps off all the time, the plates won’t join and Darth Vader keeps saying things, that are aggravating!!!
However, I still like this toy and want to play with it soon.
